On Monday, 28 June 2021, Jamiyah Singapore received news that Mr Alias Kadir, a veteran Malay comedian in Singapore had passed on.

About a month before, Jamiyah started a donation drive called Projek Permata for Mr Alias Kadir who was sick in hospital, to lessen the financial burden of hospital and rehabilitation bills for the family. The public were quick and generous in their donations. For this, we thank you.

However, with Mr Alias Kadir’s passing, Jamiyah has stopped all collections for Projek Permata, and will donate all of the money collected to his family.

The multi-artiste online donation drive event which was to be held on 3 July 2021 will also be cancelled.
